Seats are first paid, first reserved basis . Because seats fill quickly, we require course payment prior to the date of the class. Payment for the Instructor cost is $200 and is non-refundable but can be used to transfer to a different class and may be made via Zelle (account 954-303-6030 or Samantha Rooney ) or paypal (account srooney@tinyheartsmonitoring.com or 954-303-6030). As soon as your payment posts to our business account, you are enrolled for the live or virtual classes - no additional application paperwork is required. You will then recieve the zoom invite and a invoice for payemnt. However, for Intermediate Course you must finish 5 hours of prerequisite work online at the AWHONN site prior to admission to the class. Contact Kendall Hunt via the AWHONN website (go to home page, scroll about halfway down and on the right you'll see a menu for Kendall Hunt Printing) or via their address ordernow@Kendallhunt.com. Order the "Intermediate Student Materials Edition 7” or “Advance Fetal Monitoring 6 Edition” depending on the class you haver signed up for. When the prompt asks for the course number, refer to the digits in the subject line of this email. The AWHONN Student Textbooks price is separate from class price. You must purchase this book new, from Kendall Hunt. The book has a scratch-off box on the inside cover with a PIN number that will become your tracking number in the AWHONN accreditation system. Once you receive your copy, complete the assigned prerequisites, enter the AWHONN website and complete your pre class entry requirements. For Intermediate course, you must have this pre-work completed, or AWHONN will not place you on the roster for class entry. All the details are on page 1 of your student materials workbook.
Directions to our facility will be given upon payment for class, if you are attending the in person class, the location is in Ft. Lauderdale Fl.
Finally, this class is intended for L&D nurses who have worked with a U.S. fetal monitoring system for a minimum of six months. Fetal monitor is all about understanding the baby’s language and what they are trying t tell you. As such, a nurse must have some proficiency to assure the appropriate comfort level in this course. Yes, in order to enter fetal monitoring class no prior certification or class is required although it is preferred you have worked with a U.S. fetal monitoring system for a minimum of six months. Fetal monitor is all about understanding the baby’s language and what they are trying t tell you, assessment, intervention and reassessment. As such, a nurse must have some proficiency to assure the appropriate comfort level in this course. At least 6 months of hands on experience to have the general knowledge prior to coming to class. We welcome participants of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners.
No, we offer both in-person and online classes to accommodate different learning preferences and schedules. Our online classes for Advanced Fetal Monitoring and the C-EFM prep are conducted through video conferencing and provide the same level of interaction and engagement as our in-person workshops.
